Mary Ann O’Loughlin will present the findings from the COAG Reform Council’s first report on the National Education Agreement, which is scheduled for public release in November. The Agreement between the Commonwealth, State and Territory governments is based on five shared outcomes, with identified indicators and targets for measuring progress. The COAG Reform Council has responsibility for independently assessing the performance of all governments under the Agreement. The council’s first report presents a comparative analysis of baseline data for governments’ performance against key indicators, including literacy and numeracy achievement of students, successful transition from school to work and further study, reducing educational disadvantage, and Australia’s performance on international tests. |
